Hi, I’m Amber Knapp
I’m an education technology professional with 18+ years of experience designing and delivering training across higher education, health sciences, and corporate learning environments. My work sits at the intersection of instructional design, technology, and people — I help organizations translate complex, often technical content into learning experiences that are clear, engaging, and actually used.
Over my career I’ve led multi-stakeholder projects, supported change management initiatives, and guided learners from initial needs assessment through implementation. I take a consultative approach — asking the right questions early, keeping communication clear throughout, and treating every project as a collaboration rather than a transaction.
I’m currently completing my EdD in Instructional Technology.
About These Courses
The courses on this site serve two purposes. First, they’re a working portfolio — each one demonstrates real instructional design decisions across the full development lifecycle, from content mapping and storyboarding through building, testing, and producing learner support materials. Second, they’re resources I develop and refine for use in my own professional setting.
Every course reflects the same approach I bring to my broader work: start with the learner, make the complexity manageable, and design for outcomes rather than seat time.
